Midnightstar, the leader of Thunderclan now, sat outside her den entrance, waiting for anyone to come by so she could talk. It's pretty unusual for Midnightstar to want to talk, though...

Fadingcloud padded out of her den she had fallen asleep after Dawn Patrol. She sighed."Things to do and so little time,"she muttered.Fadingcloud looked at the Camp, and saw Midnightstar. She walked over to Midnightstar's den entrance."How are you today,"she asked Midnightstar.

"Good! You?" Midnightstar replied. I wonder how Cherrypaw and Blossompaw are.. She thought for a quick second before shaking her head, No! I'm a Thunderclan cat, and they're Riverclan cats! I know where my loyalties lie, but they are kin... Well, I suppose kin doesn't matter when it comes down to protecting one's clan, and I'm leader now, so that's my main job and I'm going to do it. She thought. Midnightstar focused her attention back to her deputy.

The day was fair in all aspects and for ThunderClan, the season of greenleaf was full with wonders. The sun was blazing with a serene warmth, the prey pile was more or less leaning over to the right due to the weight of some of the prey. To the elders eye it could be said this greenleaf had been bless by starclan themselves. Life within the camp seemed to be flourishing. Brittlestep, a young and self important she-cat by nature was already padding her way into the camp's entrance. Her jaws carefully juggled two mice and one small sized bluejay who's feathers seemed to stick to the moisture of her black furred lips.
Brittlestep was a serious hunter and if given the chance she would make it one of her sole duties if possible, but the young warrior knew her skills were needed in other ways as well, such as fighting, and patrolling. The cinnamon based female gently shook her pelt gingerly, the dark seal points of her bodice stark in contrast in consideration to her lighter undertones. The warrior's paws seemed to set into motion the light patter of her paws sounded against the dim dust covering over the lightly budding grass of summer. Brittlestep's jaw seemed to unclench over the pile and her catches fell neatly onto the right ward pile, yet the warrior did not concern herself for her keen oceanic eyes had spotted two familiar faces.
Both her leader and deputy where in a conversation. Brittlestep's maw seemed to curve upward in a slender smile. Her paws singing off to an unnamed beat as she lulled toward the two. 'Greetings Midnightstar, and Fadingcloud. How are you both fairing this evening?' The she-cat mewed softly, her tail gently brimming over the dirt of the camp as her rump gently plopped beside the two.

"Greetings, Brittlestep! How was hunting for you today?" Midnightstar meowed happily, ending with a question. She looked over at the dens in camp, Cats of Thunderclan... It wouldn't make us look very good if one of the other clans stormed into our camp with all of you sleeping... Midnightstar thought, annoyed with the cats in her clan. Well, I don't want to be considered lazy, either.. She asked Fadingcloud and Brittlestep, "Are you two willing to go on a border patrol along the Shadowclan border?"

"Of course, securing our borders is important, especially the ShadowClan border,"she mewed.Fadingcloud's tail twitched. She had avoided as much thing she could do with ShadowClan after the incident. She sighed as she look up at the star. Why must you make life so hard,StarClan She silently asked.

Fleetingthunder chuckled as he heard the cats converse in their usual way, Midnightstar not really wanting to talk that much, Fadingcloud encouraging her and then someone stepping in again. He'd been medicine cat for quite a while now, considering his age, and was even a medicine cat apprentice before Midnightstar became leader, but he didn't often think about that. So what if he was wiser than most of the clan? A medicine cat had to be, to tell everyone about StarClan. He snapped back to reality and heard Fadingcloud's silent ask.
"Tut tut," Fleetingthunder scolded the younger warrior, though actually he couldn't help but smile. He liked Fadingcloud and Midnightstar, and respected them both. Fleetingthunder didn't speak to those he didn't like anyways, "We must be grateful for StarClan Fadingcloud," he remembered about Doveflight, and her violent murder and Kyliepaw, but returned back to his words, "StarClan has made choices for a reason."

"Even if it's for the good of thing or the bad,"Fadingcloud sighed. She had heard that phrase many times. Her old scar that Sunthorn had given her still stung a bit,but it was usual.[/i]

Fleetingthunder nodded as he heard the she-cat speak as if she was tired of hearing the same old thing coming from him again, But he was old, and he did sometimes repeat things to younger warriors, so it would have more of an impact. He paused for a moment, and looked at Midnightstar, "This isn't like you to want to talk Midnightstar," the medicine cat said, knowing her quite well, "Is there something wrong?"

"No... There's just nothing else to do, it seems." She answered, her green eyes flicking around camp, Why do they have to be so lazy? She thought, her tail swishing in annoyance. In the end, Midnightstar just sighed and decided to let it be, They work hard every day, I suppose they deserve a day to sleep. She thought.

"Ah. You can't blame everyone." he paused for a moment to look at some of the ThunderClan cats who were either asleep or hunting, "I will need an apprentice soon though," the grey and white maine coon admitted, "I'm getting older, and I need to pass on what I know before it is too late." He yawned, and then continued, "Sorry. That might sound a bit grim."

Midnightstar looked at him and nodded, "There aren't many cats interested in becoming medicine cat apprentices. Though I'm hoping, with time, that a kit will be born that wants to take that path." She meowed. Let's just hope nothing bad happens before then.. Her eyes were narrowed, and, as usual, none of her thoughts or feelings showed.

"Yes,we need a medicine cat apprentice,"Fadingcloud said.ThunderClan was different without a medince cat apprentice."And let's hope we'll have one soon,"Fadingcloud sighed.

"And when we do get that kit, I will make sure they go down the right path. An evil medicine cat could cause all manner of havoc," Wise words just slipped out of his tongue like always. He seemed to be one of the only cats in ThunderClan who could keep up with him, "We can't let what happened to Doveflight happen to me." Although Doveflight's death was perhaps a while before even Midnightstar was born, many tales had continued about her violent murder.

"Yes,it would be chaos if both of those thing happen,I've heard what happen to Doveflight,it must be hard for you"Fadingcloud mewed.
