The medicine cat nodded, "It was." He paused for a moment, then looked to the area around ThunderClan. The forest was lush, and had lots of prey around, "But we shouldn't dwell on the past. We've had many opportunities to catch prey, but I haven't seen any hunting patrols lately. Maybe it's time for you to send one out? But these are the concerns of an old cat. Do what you will," he said, then turned his attention back to something else, "Have you heard of any news from RiverClan?"

Midnightstar nodded, then meowed, "Yes. I'd like to take Fadingcloud, and Brittlestep hunting." She turned to the medicine cat and called, "Fleetingthunder! If you need any herbs or something, you can come with us hunting." She flicked her tail and padded out of the camp's entrance.

"Nice catch," Midnightstar called to Fadingcloud. She looked around and perked her ears forward to search for prey. Midnightstar's sense of smell isn't very good, so she relies on her eyesight and hearing when hunting. Although, Midnightstar isn't a very good hunter to begin with, so it doesn't matter much.
The ThunderClan leader crouched and stalked forward lightly as soon as she heard the low sounds of a mouse digging up the ground. Midnightstar's green eyes narrowed as she saw the creature, and she pounced, but missed. The mouse took no time to dash away into the undergrowth.
Of course, most cats know that once a mouse or something small runs, they've gone into a burrow or something of the like and have gone, so Midnightstar simply scratched the ground where the mouse was scrabbling at angrily. There'll always be more prey I guess.. The she-cat thought, getting up and heading back toward her clanmates, "I missed a mouse."
