Name: Bluepelt
Gender: She-cat
Clan: WindClan
Rank: Leader
Age: 28 Moons
Description: Small, lithe, gray she-cat with pale green eyes. She is probably one of the smallest WindClan cats around, but she is still strong. Because of Bluepelt's small size, she is faster than some, but not the fastest. She can easily maneuver in a battle and has deadly accuracy. Her legs are muscular and on her left shoulder, she has a long scar from the base of her neck to half way down her leg. This was from a fight with a badger that invaded WindClan territory. Her other scars from other fights you cannot easily see. Her head is narrow and small. Her eyes are a pale green and pretty to look at. Her fur is medium length, and soft to the touch. It is sleek and always well groomed. Bluepelt's shoulders and chest aren't broad, but they have muscle worth fearing. Bluepelt's back legs are slightly longer than her front legs, but this is hard to see unless you look really close at Bluepelt.
Personality: This she-cat is worth respecting. She is very smart. She knows which battles are worth fighting, and which are not. She will not shed blood if she doesn't need too and will only kill another cat if there is no other choice. She isn't the kind of feline to go around causing trouble and trespassing into other borders unless she absolutely has to or gets permission to. If sending a message to another clan, this she-cat will not simply stroll into another's territory, she will sit at the border and patiently wait for a patrol to escort her. If she is sent away, she will accept this and go home. Bluepelt doesn't enjoy fighting if she doesn't have to fight. She is very controlled, meaning she isn't easily angered. She will often hide her emotions from others, keeping a calm, collected appearance. She never judges anyone until she knows them well enough to do so, and is very fair to others. She doesn't blame a soul until she has both sides of the story and doesn't tolerate treason. If she suspects a traitor in WindClan, she will get solid evidence before going to her leader. She is also quite thoughtful and observant, this helps in her investigation abilities.
Bluepelt also doesn't like liars. She can sniff out a bluff from a mile away and will just go with the flow if she feels the lie won't affect WindClan hugely. She isn't easily startled either, she is very brave and has a keen sense of smell and hearing. She isn't afraid to die, and isn't afraid to give orders to others in battle, even if the cat she is ordering around is higher rank. She wants to make sure WindClan wins their battles, but won't kill or plot to make it happen. The thought of killing another cat makes her feel sick to her stomach and she loathes of the idea of a cat killing another cat. However, Bluepelt will take a life if she absolutely has to or is ordered to. If she is ordered to kill, Bluepelt will do so though she doesn't have to like it. She is fiercely loyal to WindClan and will never give their secrets, even if she is told she will die if she doesn't cooperate. As stated before, Bluepelt isn't afraid to join StarClan, if she does she will join them with honor.
History (optional): Bluekit was born a happy she-cat with a brother named Antkit. He was large from the start and quickly made his dominance over the other kits apparent. He was gentle with Bluekit and their mother, but only them. He was defiant, doing what he wanted and not what others wanted him to do. Bluekit would often watch Antkit from a distance, making it look as though she wasn't paying attention. Antkit bullied the other kits and even the warriors. They wouldn't lay claw or tooth or sharp words on him unless he really said something he shouldn't have. He would put thorns in the nests of the queens and kits and the warriors and apprentices. He would laugh about it later, in secret. Bluekit could already see darkness in Antkit's heart. She would play with him, but let him know when he was getting to rough. She would ignore him the rest of the day and play with her mother instead. When Bluekit was three moons old, her mother died of whitecough. It was early leaf-bare, and the clan was always threatened with whitecough and greencough in the brutal months of leaf-bare. Bluekit missed her mother dearly and sought comfort from the other queens and kits. Antkit, however, blamed StarClan for taking his mother away and stopped believing in the ancient cats that made StarClan. Bluekit was appalled, but said nothing to anyone. If Antkit didn't want to believe in their ancestors, that was his problem. Bluekit would only talk to her brother when she had to, and he always asked her why she was mad at him. "I am not angry with you, Antkit, I am upset that I lost our mother." She would always tell him that, but she could see he never believed it.
Then came the day that Bluekit and Antkit became apprentices. She was very excited, their father was there to see it and Bluekit was convinced her mother was watching, even more so when the queen spoke softly to Bluekit after she got her new name, Bluepaw. "I am so proud of you, my daughter. Make good decisions, look after your clanmates, and train hard. Work hard to be a warrior WindClan can be proud of." Bluepaw's heart ached as her mother's presence faded. Antpaw approached Bluepaw, asking her if she was as excited as he was to be able to get out of camp now without being yelled at. "We will still be yelled at if we leave without permission, Antpaw. We are not yet warriors." She told him. He seemed angry with her, his amber eyes burning with frustration. "Why do you have to be so boring, Bluepaw!" He demanded. "I am not boring, Antpaw. I simply follow the rules, as should you." Bluepaw blinked and went to her mentor, her father, Eagletalon. He was proud of her, but she could see jealousy in Antpaw that their father was her mentor, not his. He got a she-cat for a mentor, Bluepaw couldn't ever remember her name, but she was kind and thoughtful. Bluepaw collected moss for the elders on her first day of apprenticeship, and she didn't mind collecting the moss. She knew it was for the elders, and she always enjoyed spending time with the elders.
She did every chore without question or complaint, always doing what she was told the moment she was told to do it. Eagletalon was so proud of her, but always scolded Antpaw for not listening to his mentor's instructions. Antpaw made his hatred for Bluepaw apparent one day while they were being assessed for their hunting. They met each other near the gorge and Antpaw demanded to know why Bluepaw got all the praise, and why he always got yelled at. "You never follow instructions, Antpaw. You do what you want, not what you are told. You must listen to your mentor, do as she asks without question or complaint. Antpaw, you have to listen to orders. That is your problem. Listen and obey, and you shall receive praise." Bluepaw told him. He snarled at Bluepaw and struck out at her with unsheathed claws. His claws caught her muzzle, spraying blood on the grass. He wailed on her, blow after blow after blow. She took the beating, knowing she could not, would not, fight against her brother. She was bleeding a good amount by the time Eagletalon and Antpaw's mentor reached them. They had been assessing the apprentices from a good distance so they wouldn't be seen by the 'paws. Eagletalon knocked his son to the ground with a vicious snarl and held him down with one, large paw. "How dare you strike your sister! She is your littermate!" Antpaw stared at his father in defiance, but when the large, bracken colored tom slid his claws out and let the tips of his claws dig into Antpaw's shoulder, the apprentice squealed with panic and pain. Eagletalon sheathed his claws and got in his son's face. "Remember how tough you were when your father only pricked you in the shoulder with his claws. Remember how tough you were when you lash out a paw at Bluepaw again because next time, you'll receive more than just a prick of my claws." Eagletalon threatened Antpaw and helped Bluepaw to the medicine cat's den. "Did I fail my assessment? I only caught one rabbit, and it's really small." She panted, exhausted, as she was carried on her father's strong shoulders back to camp. "No, my dear. I will make sure Stormstar knows you did your best and that your assessment." Eagletalon mewed gently.
In camp, Bluepaw was treated for her wounds and given her warrior name the next moon. She became known as Bluepelt. Antpaw became Anttail. "I am so proud of you, Bluepelt. You will definitely be a warrior WindClan can be proud of. StarClan is honored to see you as a noble warrior at last." Bluepelt sat her silent vigil that night with Anttail beside her. She didn't enjoy his presence, especially since he kept whispering to her about how excited he was, and how he was going to be the most respected warrior in clan history. Bluepelt ignored him and when dawn finally came, she went to her nest without a word to Anttail. She dreamed of her mother in StarClan, about what she said during Bluepelt's warrior ceremony. StarClan is honored to see me as a warrior? That is a huge honor! Bluepelt woke the next day at sunhigh and tagged onto a border patrol. They met Shadowclan during the patrol and a fight nearly broke out because ShadowClan thought themselves better than WindClan. Frostfoot was at the head of ShadowClan's border patrol. Bluepelt didn't want to fight if a fight wasn't needed. She spoke to Eagletalon, her father and leader of the patrol. "Her words mean nothing, father. ShadowClan has always been a proud clan, let them boast of their achievements and not allow their large ego to distract us from our patrol. A fight is not needed. They are looking for a reaction, a fight. Please, Eagletalon, lets not give them one. Bluepelt muttered to her father so the others wouldn't hear her. Eagletalon looked uncertain, and Bluepelt feared a border fight was inevitable. But finally Eagletalon turned to his patrol and waved his tail for them to continue. "Typical WindClan, running when they are too scared to defend their pride." Frostfoot yowled so Eagletalon's patrol could hear her. Her father's pelt prickled in the beginnings of bristling.
"Remember father, she wants a reaction. Don't give her one." Bluepelt mewed softly to her father and the patrol continued without another problem. They returned to camp and gave their report. Bluepelt decided then to go hunting. She met her brother after catching a plump rabbit and he saw her as well as she tried to turn away as if she didn't see him. "Well if it isn't daddy's little princess." Anttail sneered, blocking her path every time she tried to go around him. She didn't say a word, she just let Anttail talk down of her. "Have you been made deputy yet? Or haven't you licked enough tails for that?" The brown tom snickered rudely. "You know as well as I do that I must mentor an apprentice first." Bluepelt mewed simply. "No worries baby sister, you'll get your apprentice when I become leader. Stormstar has to die eventually and every warrior gets an apprentice. So when I become Antstar, I'll make you my deputy even if you haven't mentored anyone yet. After all, I will get an apprentice and then watch it become a warrior. Then I could lure Stormstar away and kill him as many times as I need too. The deputy too so I can take power and lead WindClan to power over all the of forest." He spoke as though he was already leader, and Bluepelt could see he was plotting how he would get to the top of WindClan in his eyes. "Then I will have to deny your offer for me to be your deputy. I will not break the warrior code for power. Even if you seem willing to do so. And besides, you cannot do all of this if I know your plans. Treason is against the code and it is dishonorable to kill cats of your own clan." She picked up her rabbit and started toward the camp. Anttail leaped on her from behind and demanded to know why she was so tied to the warrior code. She told him that the code is what made the clans work, what made the clans what they are. Anttail didn't like her answer and slashed at Bluepelt with his claws. "You think the warrior code protects you from harm, but I don't see you precious code fighting me now!" Bluepelt listened to Anttail's words, and all her anger at him and her anger at what happened to her mother finally spilled over. Bluepelt fought against her brother, but she wasn't as strong as he was. By the time the fight was over, Bluepelt was lying in the moorland grass in a pool of her own blood and Anttail's blood, while her brother limped away back to camp after licking his pelt of blood.
It was the next day that the pre-dawn patrol found Bluepelt on their way to patrol the RiverClan border. They carried Bluepelt between themselves carefully and brought her to camp. She was unconscious and was treated for her wounds, infection, and fever. She regained consciousness later that day at sundown. Hawkfur asked what happened to Bluepelt. "Anttail. He attacked me while I was hunting for the elders. He told me how he would become leader of WindClan, killing any cat in his way if he had to. He fought me, I guess hoping that I would die so no cat would hear of his plans." Bluepelt muttered, still weak from her fight with Anttail. The medicine cat immediately dismissed himself and went straight to Stormstar. Bluepelt waited in her nest for Hawkfur to return. She wanted more poppy seeds for the pain. Stormstar summoned the clan and Bluepelt heaved herself up to stand on trembling paws. She stumbled out of the medicine clearing and sat unsteadily outside of Hawkfur's clearing. The white medicine cat joined her, offering his shoulder for support. Bluepelt gladly leaned on him so she wouldn't fall over. Stormstar called to Anttail to stand in front of the other cats, anger in his eyes. Bluepelt watched her brother walk with confidence up to Stormstar. She flinched when Stormstar turned his raging eyes on her. Hawkfur pressed against the gray she-cat to comfort her. "Bluepelt. I have been told something that could endanger WindClan. I need you to tell me, Crowwing, and all of WindClan what Hawkfur just told me." The leader's voice echoed with encouragement for Bluepelt to speak. She shrank against Hawkfur, but he sat tall next to her as if shielding her from the curious eyes of the clan. "Bluepelt woke a few minutes ago and I asked what had attacked her. She told me that Anttail, her own brother, attacked her while she was hunting for the elders. She told me that Anttail planned to overthrow you, Stormstar, and Crowwing as well so he can become leader of WindClan." Hawkfur's voice remained steady as he spoke.
Stormstar looked at Bluepelt with sympathetic eyes. "Is this true, Bluepelt?" He asked. She glanced at Eagletalon. He was sitting next to another tom, his golden pelt bristling with rage as he glared at Anttail who was sitting tall in front of the clan as if what he had done was okay. Bluepelt felt her mother brush against her. "It is okay, darling. Tell the truth and Anttail will never harm another cat again." Her mother's voice gave Bluepelt strength. "It is true, Stormstar. I was indeed hunting for our elders when Anttail spoke of treason and attacked me when I denied him my assistance in his evil plans. Truth is, Stormstar, I have always seen darkness in Anttail's heart. I prayed to StarClan that this darkness wouldn't bring him to attack his own sister, and perhaps later his clan leader and deputy." Bluepelt spoke, her voice rough from an injury on her throat. Hawkfur laid his tail on her shoulders, letting her know that she didn't have to speak any more unless she wanted to. Stormstar looked at Anttail. "Then I have no choice but to exile you, Anttail, for treason and attacking your own clanmates. You will no longer be allowed in clan territory and I will make sure the other leaders know of what you have done." Stormstar said. Anttail was exiled, the leaders informed of his crimes, and Bluepelt's life continued from there.
Other: None.
