Swiftstrike Somehow I found a way to get lost in you. Swiftstrike's eyes opened slowly, his mind drifting into consciousness. Sunlight winked at him through the entrance of the warriors den. It was snowing' he watched as the snowflakes fell silently, slowly covering the earth in white. He laid there a few moments, painfully aware of the still empty den beside him. It had been a few moons since Runningbrook left, and still, everyday, Swiftstrike missed his sister.
Ignoring the painful aching in his heart, he uncurled himself from his nice warm den; it was time to provide for his clan. He shook himself, grooming his shiny black fur. Once finished, he stood, pushing himself through the entrance of the den with his wide shoulders.
Stepping out in the sunlight, he blinked, the camp sparkling with a small layer of snow. He flicked an ear, feeling the chill already creep through his bones. He ignored it, looking around at the activity in the camp. He purred as he started to walk toward the fresh kill pile, his steps confident and his head and tail high. It was a new day, and he always welcomed a new day.
Pushing the thoughts of Runningbrook to the back of his mind, he approached the fresh kill pile.

It was not the mere wafts of sunlight that aroused her- her breath billowing much like mist in the dreary morn, nor the tantalizing sensation of an early snow, but perhaps a low rustle of heedful cats that aroused in the camp. Her eyes had not yet adjusted to the dim lighting- but she was positive as to seeing a shadow act on its own accord, before she lifted her muzzle from the unruly moss that twined with her thick coat. It took a moment for her to become accustomed to the frigid air, her icy eyes calloused and hard, much like ice, as she stared with great scrutiny at the feline resembling shapes that pivoted about like tiny dancers.

Swiftstrike Somehow I found a way to get lost in you. Swiftstrike had decided on a small vole, picking it up from the slowly dwindling fresh kill pile. Deciding hunting was definitely in his near future, he wandered back to the warriors den, seeking a bit of warmth during his meal. As he neared the entrance, he saw a flash of blue from inside, sunlight catching the icy eyes of a fellow warrior. Rainpelt. He had spoken with the she-cat but a few times, and found something rather intriguing about her. Purring a good morning, he settled near the entrance of the den, just outside, his vole between his large paws. "Cold morning, eh, Rainpelt?" he meowed, his green eyes flashing to the lithe female. "Must've snowed all night. I can't wait for new leaf."

She was at first rather hesitant to escape the feeble enclosure of the dark- the snow was an atypical alleviation that she adored as much as the twilight, cantering from the seclusion of the dark. The revelation of speaking had not yet occurred to her, the outlandish nature that appeared so often in her behaviour were considered spiteful, thus she thought of herself as a terrible canindate to solitude. She had spoken to this dark figure only sparse times before- he was a peculiar fellow indeed. "I beg to differ," she stated coldly, "What brings you here? Was I sent on a patrol? Sent to fetch me?"

Swiftstrike Somehow I found a way to get lost in you. Swiftstrike had began to tear into her vole, his fuel for hunting later. But the she-cats cold tone made him pause, lifting his head to look at her calmly. He was used to such cold beginnings to conversations. This wasn't any different. "Why, no," he replied, cheerfully, shrugging off her tone. "Just a greeting. Small talk? Communication? You know?" She was definitely peculiar, and while Swiftstrike hadn't managed to break her outer shell, he wasn't about to give up. Rainpath intrigued him, and he wanted to be friends with the she-cat, no matter what it took. Therefore, he had already prepared himself for some tongue lashing. He took a bite from his vole, his talk flicking slowly behind him. "Want a bite? I just wanted a bit of energy. Hunting later, you know." He glanced at the fresh kill pile, his eyes narrowing. "Fresh kill pile is rather low." He looked back at her, purring softly. "Can't say I'll refill it too well. Hunting isn't exactly my....forte."

She eyed him warily, her fur stiff and arising to the certain call of hostility. She was quite wary of her feline comrades, and her eyes narrowed slightly, irises searching for a catch. "Intriguing." she stated plainly, certainly uncomfortable with such a near proximity. "Greetings, yes, I suppose there's nothing else that we can do. Perhaps now we can go frolic in WindClan territory, as the clan certainly needs no assistance." she mused sarcastically, though her whiskers twitched ever so slightly. It appealed to her, somehow, this notorious stuttering. Perhaps a thaw in the eyes. Or the mentioning of hunting. "I would believe so, given your mass. ShadowClan could hear your stalk from FourTrees," she mused coyly, though her mew was still the slightest of bits indifferent.

Swiftstrike Somehow I found a way to get lost in you. Swiftstrike's tail twitched slightly, amused. A response; first step. He took that as a good thing, even though her comment was sarcastic. He purred in amusement at her final comment. This was true; his lumbering, disproportionate body made him rather...well, less distinguished than others in the hunting category. Ah, let's face it, he mused silently. I'm a clumsy oaf when it comes to hunting!"So you've seen me hunt, then?" he purred back, looking at her. "I hunt like a clumsy badger. No hope for me in that area." He wrapped his tail around him, blinking at Rainpath. "But I've noticed you're quiet an excellent hunter, if I say so myself."

Was that a compliment? Rainpath was rather perplexed at the statement, and her ear twitched slightly, "A blunderous stalk, if you were to ask me." she criticized, though her tail flicked to and fro to provoke amusement.

Swiftstrike Somehow I found a way to get lost in you. Swiftstrike nodded. "Much better assessment," he meowed, flicking an ear toward her as he purred in amusement. "Perhaps, then, you would like to accompany me hunting?" He paused, suddenly anxious. His tail twitched slightly. "You could accompany the blunderous stalker, and definitely make up for my lack of skill."

She persisted in eyeing him skeptically, the coldness of her gawk faltering only slightly. Tail whisking this way and that, she narrowed her eyes. "Perhaps. Where shall we hunt at, then?" she queered ferally, skeptic of this eager tom.

Swiftstrike Somehow I found a way to get lost in you. Swiftstrike couldn't help it; in excitement, he leaped to his paws, tail lashing. "Great!" he purred loudly, giving his chest a quick lick. "I was thinking we could hunt near Sunningrocks? Maybe some creatures have come out of hiding for water." He couldn't help his excitement; perhaps he was beginning to melt the icy she-cat? He could only hope. He was known for his sense of humor; maybe poking fun at his inability to hunt would further break the ice?

Her whiskers twitched with the simplicity of his statement, "I suppose that's a fine portion of the territory to hunt amongst." she pondered, her under fur a comfort given the frigid morn. It was certainly bright out- the snow was glittering like an unfathomable gem, or perhaps a fine pestering being that distracted her. "You're coming, aren't you?" she inquired fiercely, stumbling among the snow.
OOC: Shall I set up the topic or you? o:

Swiftstrike Somehow I found a way to get lost in you. Swiftstrike nodded, his ear twitching. "Of course!" He stumbled after her, the snow soaking through his fur. OOC: Either way. :3 You can, if you'd like!
