Brightsky Senior Warrior of WindClan[/size] The silence was unnerving as the birds quickly fell silent as a sense of wrongness felt over the plateau that was looming over the area like an ominous cloud. Every animal shifted uneasily, looking around for the source of the of this chill but all they could spot was an unusual rustle in the long grass. Unknown to them, a dark brown tom was situated in the grass, a long developed patience from time and time again that Brightsky sat in the same position, for the same reason. Brightsky was balanced lightly on all four paws, his dark brown medium long fur was just barely brushing the supple ground, his equally brown tail was lowered to the ground and his clear blue eyes were fixated on the area in front of him, looking for a suitable piece of prey. Brightsky was a senior warrior, and had perfected his hunting technique over the seasons to suit his preference.
The tom's eyes darted and locked on to a female hare, rather old and small, but it would have to do, because for some reason, Brightsky felt a sense of unease within himself. Shaking the feeling away, he concentrated on the hare with renewed vigor. With a burst of speed that on a WindClan cat could poses, Brightsky began his chase. The rabbit predictably also started to run, but away from the cat. The two danced across the plateau for a short time before Brightsky decided to finish it and closed the distance between the two of them. The tom's heart was pounding a blood rushed in his ears as he was getting closer and closer. Out of no where, everything went black and Brightsky felt a small sensation of pain then nothing.
Brightsky was confused as to how he suddenly found himself laying on his side, grass flattened to accommodate his weight, and the rabbit no where in sight. The tom blinked and pushed himself to his paws quickly, hoping he hadn't lost the rabbit, but was sent crashing to the ground with a groan as a wave of dizziness sent his head reeling. The tom curled in on himself, having no idea what just happened.
Trying again, but this time more slowly, Brightsky pushed himself to his paws and swayed unsteadily. What was that? The tom wondered, running a paw over his face to try and get rid of the feeling of dizziness. As the ground finally became still under his paws, Brightsky sat down roughly on his hunches and held a paw to his head. He had no idea what just happened.

The newly named deputy, Patchclaw, looked about the clearing as the ever-blowing breeze echoed against the moore, flatining her body to the ground, Patchclaw sniffed the air. The she-cat was hunting with Hawktail today, the stone cold cat was very open to the Deputy and leader, Patchclaw didn't mind. As she bunched up her leg muscles and sniffed the air once more amongst the breeze carried the distinct fear-scent of a rabbit. "Come," Patchclaw whispered to Hawktail, jolting forward upwind.

Hawktail watched the she-cat gracefully stalking as he, too, crouched as Patchclaw did, waiting , he sniffed the air and flattened his ears to the back of his head and trudged forward, his long tail wavering in the wind. It was only sun-high and he could feel the rabbits lurking out of their dens practically into his claws. Hawktail glanced at Patchclaw, her emerald eyes brightly in search of prey, ' How beautiful ' he chuckled lightly to himself, his maw rising to a smile and looked away. Mmm, would he ever have feelings for this cat? Or would his sealed up mind prevent him? ' Your being peposterous!' Hawktail answered to himself and was snapped into reality when Patchclaw whispered "Come." He, low to the ground, his bellyfur just inches from the grasses, he followed Patchclaw down wind. He sniffed the air and smelt it! Yum! Rabbit! But there was somthing else and again, drifted into his thoughts as he followed her down the ravine.

Patchclaw lead Hawktail over hilly slopes and tall grasses till Patchclaw came to the hare who had calm down and was now sniffing the air, her hind legs readying herself, the she-cat darted forward and clawed at the rabbit, running fullspeed which can outrun even the fastest rabbit, and, clipping the rabbit ever so slightly on the hind leg, it stumbled and fell onto the ground where it lay scrambling. Patchclaw picked it up while it struggled sadly killing it in a swift bite on the neck and burried it in the ground for later. "Ha ha!" Patchclaw proudly remarked and chuckled at Hawktail, blushing a bit. Then it hit her, A fellow windclan warrior amongst the tall grasses that littered the moore. She raced, low to the ground, and sniffed once and continued. There was trouble, she knew that. When she pounded over the slope she had seen Brightsky. "Brightsky!" She called to the cat. Hoping to get the toms attention and, carefully striding towards the tom, noticed somthing off. The tom was swaying and Patchclaw rushed to his side and propelled him onto balance. "What is wrong? Your acting like a confused badger!" Patchclaw steppped back to let the cat speak.

Brightsky moved his paw from his head and opened his now dull blue eyes to see who had called out to him. His head shot up when he recognized it as Patchclaw, the deputy of WindClan. "Patchclaw!" Brightsky meowed, his voice clearly showing his surprise of the she cat's appearance. The tom jumped to his paws but swayed slightly on the spot, trying desperately not to show weakness in front of the other WindClan cat.
"I assure you I am fine. I must have just not eaten enough today." He replied flippantly, twitching his whiskers as if to dismiss the concern the she cat was showing. As the dizziness passed, Brightsky properly turned to the she cat and nodded to her.
"What brings you out to this part of the plateau today?" He asked, trying to divert the conversation away from his sudden decline in health. Now that the tom stopped to think about it, he hadn't been feeling well since the other day he fought off the dog with Swansong and Smokepaw. The tom grimaced at the thought of the white she cat and suppressed a shudder at the reminder of his past that he had gotten from the she cat. Even if he was sick, there was no way he was going to that insane she cat; he didn't trust the she cat enough to heal him properly.

"Come now, Brightsky," clearly noticing the wavering in the toms balance. Patchclaw supported the tom a bit and licked his pelt a couple of times, "Oh just hunting when Hawktail and I smelt fear scent from a rabbit." Your probably dehydrated, why don't you sit down? Just relax. Hawktail," Patchclaw ordered, her attention focused on the black tom, "Go get some water soaked moss and our rabbit would you?" Patchclaw called. Looking back down at brightsky, added, " Now, i have seen this before, it's common amongst Windclan cats how the heat bares down on the cats. I'm not the only cat that knows a bit of herbs." The she-cat talked on and on, licking the toms pelt, "Come, lets find some shade." Getting up and waiting for Hawktail to return with the mosses, directed the large cat to a small but growing tree.

Hawktail dipped his head respectfully and turned to start off to find moss and water. Trudging through the bug infested grasses, found a big swab of moss hidden amongst the shadow of a dead nettle patch. Picking the moss carefully through his teeth, padded off into the direction of the nearest river.
Hawktail had been walking for what seemed like hours but only five or six minuets. The time of day blended as the sun blured and the ground went slipping away under him, meowing, Hawktails eyes started crowding with dots and finally blackness. Scared, he screamed loudly and became aware he was hanging over a small clif, a good five feet as his mind wandered magically like bouncing balls pinging against his brain as he sat up, shaked but violently fell into the dirt and leaves again, scattering everything. Then everything went black once more and the last thing he remembered was mewls of pain that were, his own. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ When awoken, the sun was passing, just a hour, and he was sure he had of a fever. Quickly getting up, his head pounding, limped into the direction of the river but scuttled as a loud boom exploded from the grasses and echoed through the moore. Which suprisingly was the pounding of a rabbit slipping past him, as he watched it go, his mind locked into place once more and again, limped into the direction of the river, his eyes lazy with tiredness. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Making to the river and filling the moss, and licking up alot of water to clear his head, it did make his head feel better and trudged into the direction of Patchclaw and Brightsky.
