A beautiful day in the Riverclan camp .................................................... 'Boy, I'd better check up on Goldenkit and Sourkit!' Havenheart purred with amusment at the neglect to her newest adopted kit. ' How could i not?' Havenheart wanted Tawnywing to join her but couldn't wait seeing the clan needed fresh kill. The sun had just reach the highest part and fluffy white and approaching gray storms. ' I'd better leave soon!' Havenheart thought and with a quick few licks to her pelt, bounded across the muddy clearing from the warriors den over to the nursery. Quietly not to wake Golden and Sourkit, Havenheart padded into the nursery to see the familiar face of The fluffy golden face and tiny downy ears and stripped brown face of the tabby tom.

Tawnywing was tired. It wasn't easy taking care of two kits and she would be up constantly when Sourkit or Goldenkit would wail for attention. She would have surely collapsed in exhaustion by now if it hadn't been for Havenheart. The she cat smiled to herself as she turned over, just barely touching the water with her tawny fur. The RiverClan warrior opened her eyes and glanced at the water but quickly closed her eyes to shelter them from the bright sun. Judging by the reflection, the sun had just risen to its peak and was hovering there brightly.
Tawnywing sighed warily and turned over to her side, so she was no longer facing the dazzling water and tried opening her eyes once again. She watched lazily as Havenheart darted into the nursery. Tawnywing debated getting up from her warm spot before focusing her eyes and pushing herself to her paws. With a quick trot she made it to the nursery just after Havenheart.
Tawnywing paused to observe the adorable faces of the kits before moving past Havenheart gently-not before sending her a smile- and situated herself next to Sourkit. The little sandy brown tom was purring in his sleep, his tail twitching in his dreams. The she cat began to purr with him as she gently set her head on top of him, knowing he would wake up soon, now that she was there.
Sure enough, grey eyes blinked at her sleepily before a long yawn split his jaws that ended with a hiccup. The she cat purred her laughter and set about cleaning the still sleepy kit, who quickly melted under his mother's tongue and went back to sleep. "Aint they just precious?" She asked Havenheart dreamily, her aquamarine eyes fixated on the tom in front of her.

Havenheart too, went quickly over to Goldenkit and purred with delight of the new companion Havenheart made. Unable to resist, Havenheart gently licked to quiet and sleepy kit with long strokes, "Yes, Yes they are," Havenheart purred with delight at Tawnywings motherly tone. Havenheart curled around Goldenkit and layed her head down besid Goldenkits head. The kit squeeled and before returning to it's slumber stretched and snuggled up. Havenheart would raise this litle patch of fur. Havenheart chuckled with amusment and relief that the kit was warm anough. "Tawnywing," Havenheart turned her attention toward Tawnywing.
"Hows Sourkit?" Havenheart asked eager for a reply while sniffing the kit and giving Sourkit a quick lick, screwed up her face at the taste, "Yuck! Crowfood!" Havenheart chuckled to Tawnywing. "But he smells fine!" Havenhearts eyes glinted and curled up next to Goldenkit once again.

Tawnywing gently soothed the kit in front of her with her purrs, watching as he continued to sleep. Her eyes glittered as she smiled at the she cat at her response. Tawnywing looked at Goldenkit for a moment, giggling at the kit's behavior. She looked to Havenheart when her name was called and moved out of the way slightly so Havenheart had access to the kit at her side. Tawnywing had to let out a laugh when Havenheart licked at the kits pelt before looking at her sheepishly.
"Sorry about that, I've been groomin' him as much as I can but my tongue goes numb after a while from licking him too much. I think I might as Shadownose for some honey to put on him to make his pelt more endurable." The she cat joked, poking the sandy kit, who didn't respond to Tawnywing in the slightest.
Tawnywing paused before looking at Havenheart all curled around the kit. "Why don't chu go huntin' to stretch your limbs, Havenheart? I can handle watchin' these two for a while." She suggested, glancing at the beautiful day outside. Jadestar had made both Havenheart and Tawnywing temporary queens until Goldenkit and Sourkit were promoted to apprentices. The two she cats had become friends quickly in this time, but had been confide to camp to take care of the kits. To be honest, it wasn't as easy as Tawnywing had thought it would be, but she had taken to the task of looking after the kit like a fish would take to water. Tawnywing had always been the motherly type and would always fantasize about having kits of her own. As an apprentice she would imagine what they would look like, what they would be named, even what she would do to take care of them. This had changed slightly when she had meet Crowsnarl; after the two had meet, the picture expanded to include the tom as well.
Tawnywing paused in her thoughts, realizing this would never happen. Crowsnarl was gone, Tawnywing did not know where or how but as much as she wished it, he was most likely not coming back. The she cat curled herself around the kit, taking in comfort that she could still raise a kit without a mate, despite the part of her that longed for one (a very specific one). Tawnywing sighed sadly before turning her attentions back to Havenheart, to await her answer. Sure she may still miss Crowsnarl, but she felt like she was finally starting to move on. Maybe Sourkit would help her with this? Maybe he was finally going to fill a hole in heart that she had felt missing for moons now. The RiverClan warrior(turned queen) nodded to herself. Yes. Maybe it was time to stop thinking of Crowsnarl and turn her attention to other issues surrounding her. Namely, the abandoned kit who she now would care for as her own and her sister, who she had yet to talk to despite he promise to herself that she would.

Despite the fact that Havenheart was dozing off, she nodded her head in acceptance and akknowledged that the clan needed fresh kill first. With a satisfting lick on the head of the yellow patch of fur, Havenheart stepped out of the dusty nursery to the sunlight. At first it burned her eyes but her eyes adjusted and she sniffed the air. The clan cats layed around except the patrols or hunting parties, stretching in a back bow, padded lightly off to regrace at camp entrance to start the she-cats hunt. Swiftly making her way through the boudary that surrounded the camp, Havenheart jumped into the surrounding river with long strokes and kicking with her back legs, making it saftly across. Then pounded through the marshy forest to hunt for her clan. ~Fin~
