The sun was rising slowly, casting a glow into the apprentices' den. The newly named apprentice opened her eyes, squinting at the sudden light. Flowerpaw closed her eyes again, stretching her mouth wide with a yawn. Unwilling to get up quite yet, she extended herself fully and relaxed again. It was not long before the sun got to bright for her to sleep through. She sighed slightly before pulling herself up to her feet. She gave herself a quick cleaning before leaving the den.
Bounding into the camp, Flowerpaw ran into the warriors den, looking for Catnipcloud. She spotted the ginger tom sleeping, and not wanting to be a bother on her first day, left the den and went to the fresh-kill pile. She picked up two mice by their tails, and padded towards the apprentice den, settling down in front to eat her prey.

Thankfully they had found nothing on their patrol, but being awake for that long made the tomcat quite restless and he needed some sleep. Only a few hours into his slumber, his body shifted restlessly awake as he noticed a familiar shape in the opening to the warriors' den. His golden eyes stared forward at the shape before it left, attempting to focus to find who the culprit had been. As the small figure escaped the opening to the den, Catnipcloud shrugged it off and went back to sleep for a few moments. It was then his mind recognized who was at the door to his den - Flowerpaw!
He gave a slight grumble to himself, feeling partially guilty about ignoring her and leaving her to fend for herself in the new apprentices' den, all alone. Stifling a very large yawn, the strong tomcat pushed himself up from the ground and made his way out of the den. He stretched, the sound of cartilege popping making him feel a bit refreshed. He then made his way to the fresh-kill pile, noticing Flowerpaw nearby. Grabbing a large rabbit from the pile, he padded over to sit next to her.
"Early riser, are we?" he meowed, his voice gruff since waking up, but he did his best to try and make it seem friendly. He began to tear away at the rabbit, quite enjoying his early morning meal. He flashed the apprentice a smirk as he was waking up to his regular self once more.

Flowerpaw took her time eating, stopping and playing with the mice occasionally to pass the time. She tossed one high into the air with a flick of her paw and caught it by its' haunches. She tore into it with glee, feeling as though she had hunted it herself, rather than just having picked it up. Her short ears swiveled to the Warriors Den as she heard paw steps coming from within. A smile leaped onto her face as she recognized her mentor, who made his way over to her after picking up a rabbit.
She nodded after he spoke "I can't ever sleep with the sun up." she said with a laugh, as she began to tear into her second mouse. The sunshine was warming gradually, and she could feel the rays shining onto her dark coat, warming her almost instantly.

He could have easily eaten two and a half with his hunger, but he knew it wasn't best to be a glutton, especially as Leaffall had begun. After another moon or two snow would set in and prey would be scarce. He had to remember not to indulge like it was still Greenleaf. Finishing up his meal, he licked his jaws with his pink tongue, heaving one last full yawn. Feeling rather awake, he glanced around the clearing, laying down pleasantly. Few cats were waking up and going to their patrols or duties of the day.
"Well, then, since you aren't sleeping away the morning like the other apprentices," he meowed loudly into the apprentices' den, attempting to wake the other sleeping bundles as a chuckle escaped his lips. "Are you up for an adventurous first day of training?" there was a glimmer of amusement in his eye - he hadn't ever had an apprentice yet, despite being almost two years old, and he felt he'd make the most of it.

Swallowing the last bite of her mouse, she looked over at her mentor and smiled, jumping to her feet as he finished his hare. She noticed a few other warriors waking and leaving the camp, either for morning patrols or hunting. Flowerpaw opened her jaws wide in a yawn, turning her shoulder into the wind as it stirred up, reminding her that the cold season was just around the corner.
Her attention turned quickly to Catnipcloud as he spoke; his words made her giggle, giving her a feeling of pride at being up first. "Oh yes! Defiantly!" she spoke with vigor, jumping up and down with excitement. "What're we going to do first?"

He was certain they would both get along very well, and was grateful to be given such an agreeable apprentice. With a flick of his tail, he beckoned her to follow him out of camp.
It wasn't long until his paws arrived at a barren clearing full of large, flat stones. The tomcat tensed for a moment, glancing around the clearing carefully and sniffing through his nose as well as open mouth. After another moment he ventured onwards, feeling the area was safe. He turned to Flowerpaw with a smirk.
"Welcome to Snakerocks," he meowed with a spark in his eye.
Snakerocks wasn't usually the first spot for new trainees, but Catnipcloud didn't know any better. Despite being known for having anything from badgers to adders make their home nearby, he figured it would be a great adventure and learning experience for Flowerpaw. Instead of being more sensible and choosing Tallpines or Sunningrocks, he decided to be creative in their lesson of the day.
Catnipcloud padded around the clearing, jumping up and down from the rocks while scoping out the scenery, searching for any enemies just in case.
