The sun was high up, marking the time of mid-day. It shined its rays down on camp without a cloud in the sky. It was unnaturally sunny today - it wasn't cold at all, except for perhaps a small breeze or so.
Blackpaw yawned. Her mentor was probably busy, so they hadn't gotten any time to wake her up yet. She stood up slowly, putting one paw out at a time. When she was finally up, the she-cat stretched her body out. The stiffness started to fade away and she heard her spine crack from the stretch.
Then she finally headed out of the den. Blackpaw swept her gaze around the clearing, her mustard-colored eyes raking every detail. She found a nice spot on a rock and walked towards it. The sun was already warming her fur up, since her pelt was so dark.
Her short fur allowed her to lie down on the rock comfortably. She sighed, relaxing from the warmth. She loved how WindClan always had so much grass and sun. It allowed them to sleep comfortably during green-leaf, but without a long pelt Blackpaw sometimes got cold in all the other seasons; she usually slept in the open air on relatively warm nights.
She stayed like that for a little while, watching the warriors go to and fro from camp. It felt like hours, but was only ten minutes or so. She soon found herself getting more bored by the second. It wasn't like she could go out and hunt or something; Blackpaw had no skills whatsoever, and didn't want to go through the learning process. She was still an apprentice, and a new one at that.
"I'm so bored!" She yowled to no one in particular. Nothing was happening. And she wanted something to happen, someone to come over and at least talk to her. (She doesn't have a mentor yet.)

The shape hesitated for a moment, breathing out a short sigh, before exposing itself out of the enclosure. The silvery, lithe limb, and slightly angular body of the cat gazed over at Blackpaw, a slightly strange expression upon its visage - almost as if he were questioning why she propped herself upon the rock. This thought seemed to shake from his mind as his deep blue eyes shifted to the scenery surrounding both cats. Many of the camp was rather restful this morning, especially seeing as the temperatures had begun to fall as of late and nippy weather was best spent in the dens. Thus, Stonepaw's eyes fell upon Blackpaw once more, noticing her smart plan of getting sunny rays upon the stone.
Stonepaw had not quite been himself as much lately, partially due to his health. Although the patches that had once been empty on his pelt were now filling back up, he now felt a centralized pain in his mind. A constant migraine of pain made the youthful apprentice snappy in remarks when it hurt most. In addition, since receiving the illness, his general distaste for life seemed now heightened. He was no longer that naive, bouncy, and kindhearted kitten he had been in the nursery only few moons ago. Even watching his mother pass from his side at a young age had not hardened him as much as he appeared today.
"What are you doing?" he meowed, slightly under his breath as his eyes glanced up and down Blackpaw for a moment. He rested himself a few paces away from the sunning rock and began to gnaw at some dirt between his claws. Every few moments, however, his ocean-blue eyes stole a glance back at Blackpaw.

As she laid on the rock, it became increasingly more difficult to stay still. Blackpaw fidgeted uncomfortably, turning around so she was on her back and closed her eyes. The heat was starting to make her fur hot. It was weird. Why did cats with light pelts stay here for the longest time, while she couldn't stand there for at least a couple minutes?
She didn't want to move from the spot, but it was still boring to be there. She was finally saved when a small shadow made everything a little bit darker and she couldn't feel any warmth. She twisted around, trying to find the light, "Dude, you're blocking my sun." She hissed. She didn't like the cold.
Blackpaw opened her eyes, seeing the deep blue eyes. It was like staring at a senior warrior, but she already knew that they belonged to Stonepaw. She didn't know what had happened, but he looked different from the annoying, bouncy apprentices she always saw.
He moved away a little, the sunlight then returning and she immediately felt the warmth of the sun again. He had settled nearby the rock - she was glad that she got the whole rock to herself - and started to clean his claws. She turned around and stared at him, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world - and it was, "What do you think I'm doing, furball?" She snapped, "I'm being warm, because it won't last for long."

She had been asked to join a hunting party with a group of warriors. What a thing to be asked ! No other apprentices had been invited, hence the she-cat was boiling within to gloat the fact. Her glistening gray pelt shifted when she spotted Blackpaw sunning herself on a rock. A normal place to spot the she-cat. Nearby she also noted Stonepaw who was still ill. The female found herself backing away. She'd never admit it but she feared sickness.
Clenching her teeth down on the small rabbit's throat. The female's legs moved under her supporting her small frame as she reached the prey pile dropping her catch into the mix. Yes, proud she was. Emerald orbs flitted around for a moment before locking on Blackpaw. It seemed there was nothing else to do at the moment. Bored as she was she'd risk being around Stonepaw for a few moments. With her tail dancing behind her rump she came to a halt beside the stone. Casting a dark glare at Stonepaw with a huff. 'Obviously you mouse-brain. What else would she be doing up there?' her voice squeaked out sharply as her orbs rolled away from his sight. What a small minded brute.
