Name: Wolfkit -> Wolfpaw -> ? Gender: Male Clan: RiverClan Rank: Apprentice Age: 8 moons Description: A burly, gray tom with green eyes and sharp claws. Personality: Definitely a loner, Wolfpaw mostly keeps to himself. He doesn't associate much with others, having learned as a kit that cats are judgmental and that they aren't worth Wolfpaw's time. Unlike his name, Wolfpaw is certainly not a social beast. If he could have it his way, Wolfpaw wouldn't associate with any cats except for his mentor, and even that would only be for training. He is at his most content when he's left to his own devices and allowed to do whatever he wants, which is typically training. Though he is a loner and would like to stay alone as much as possible, Wolfpaw does admit the necessity of interacting with others and he will deal with it when he has to. Of course, unless he has to or for some reason wants to (which is exceedingly rare), Wolfpaw will not seek out the company of others.
The reason that it is rare for Wolfpaw to want to seek out the company of others is that he isn't the kind of cat who gets attached easily. This is mostly because of his mother's death. Ever since losing her, Wolfpaw has mostly closed himself off from the world, feeling like a failure for not being able to protect her. He doesn't want to go through that again, so Wolfpaw has closed himself off. He hasn't gotten truly attached to anyone except for possibly his mentor since, and that's really only because Wolfpaw is so driven to become the best warrior ever and he sees his mentor as his guide along that path. But, beyond that, Wolfpaw has yet to get close to any cats in the aftermath of his mothers death, and he doesn't intend to.
Should Wolfpaw get attached to another cat, his fiercely protective nature would be evident. He takes care of the ones that he cares about, and this protective streak is all the fiercer now that he has lost his mother. Wolfpaw would never willingly let something hurt anyone that he felt a fond emotion towards, and he is prone to leaping to their defense, even if they don't really need it. But that's just how Wolfpaw is. He'll defend them to his last breath to make up for his failures to protect his mother, the first cat that he ever loved.
Wolfpaw is extremely driven to become the best warrior that he can be. He has no ambitions of becoming deputy or leader. All that Wolfpaw wants is to become the best warrior possible. It's why he's bulked up so much in the past two moons, and Wolfpaw spends all of his time training, driving his body to its limits so that, one day, he can be the greatest warrior ever. Wolfpaw never wants to lose a battle again, and in his mind, the best way to ensure that it never happens is to make sure that he is the greatest warrior ever. Or at least, that's Woflpaw's logic. And he believes it with every fiber of his being. Wolfpaw never slacks off while training, and even when he's not training with his mentor, he will be training by himself. History (optional): Foxheart - Mother, Deceased Unknown Father
Foxheart was a very sweet, and rather pretty she-cat. She was quite the eye catcher within RiverClan, drawing the eyes of quite a few males. Some were mated, some were not. Foxheart never showed any preference over the males that payed attention to her, not wanting to make any males feel jealous. Still, it was clear to any with eyes that the cat that she was most drawn to was Icestorm, a white tom. Whenever he was around, she'd put on an act just for him. The thing was that Icestorm was happily partnered with another female and never glanced twice at Foxheart. However, that didn't stop people from assuming when Foxheart got pregnant. She never did tell anyone who the father was, simply stating that he had wished to remain anonymous. He was, in fact, a loner, one who had been passing through the area when Foxheart was angry with Icestorm. To distract herself, she seduced the tom, not even knowing his name. She claimed that he was a Clan cat who wanted to remain anonymous, and never said another word about it.
She brought only one kit into the world, little Wolfkit. He was born small, receiving the name Wolfkit in hopes that it would inspire Wolfkit to grow large and strong, like his namesake. Wolfkit was small, though, small despite the fact that he was the only kit that Foxheart had borne into the world. With his short gray fur and small build, he didn't take much after his mother, that much was clear. But that didn't give much insight into the identity of the father. By that point, however, whatever gossip that had been spreading about the identity of Wolfkit's father was mostly forgotten, remembered only by Shadownose, with his sharp ear for gossip. But Wolfkit definitely didn't look like his orange tabby mother.
Not many of the kits in the nursery wanted to play with Wolfkit. Maybe it was because he didn't have much to contribute to their games, or maybe it was because he was just an odd kit. He didn't know his father, and didn't go frolicking up to that mystery tom when he passed by the nursery, like so many of the kits did. Wolfkit was mostly a self-contained cat. He wasn't prone to shows of affection, but he was quick to leap to his mother's defense when he heard cats gossiping about her. Other than that, though, Wolfkit didn't seem to feel any emotion at all. He was a cold kit, one who didn't need anyone else, and he was just fine with that.
When Wolfkit was four moons old, his mother took ill. Not wanting a sick queen in the den with so many kits, the medicine cat whisked Foxheart from the den and into his own. Wolfkit was only rarely allowed to see her, and each time that he slipped away from the den to see her, Wolfkit saw that she was growing weaker, the life fading from her emerald green eyes. The tom stayed with her as much as possible, but Shadownose shooed Wolfkit out before he'd spent more than an hour at a time with his mother. Barely a week after she fell ill, Foxheart passed away. Wolfkit was devastated, and furious with himself for not being able to save his mother. He decided right then that he was going to be the best fighter ever, so that he would never let anyone down like that again. From then on, Wolfkit would be able to protect those few that he cared about. He was never going to lose someone he loved again.
Two moons after that, Wolfkit was apprenticed. He groomed himself in preparation, making sure that every strand of fur looked perfect, just the way Foxheart would have wanted it, and the tom was ready promptly when Jadestar summoned him to become a warrior apprentice. Immediately after apprenticing and becoming Wolfpaw, he threw himself fiercely into training, doing his best to become the warrior that he had sworn on the day that his mother died that he would be.
Other: - Wolfpaw doesn't know who his father is (his father was a loner) - I really don't care who Wolfpaw is apprenticed to. XD
